In other big news, Tim and I (oh, that's Husband) are going to Michigan for another whirlwind tour tomorrow. He has another look-see at the hospital he is interested in. The second hospital on his list has already been sending offers and letters of intent to us through the recruiters, and DAMN it looks good! But his first choice is even better, I think. It's a much more prudent choice. More fiscally sound. Not as much of a base salary, but the earning potential is greater because he will be paid per procedure.
Still no Sara eggs. After multiple sessions of peek-a-book with me yesterday, I decided to leave her alone for a few hours this morning. No deal. Still gravid. Still clambering to get out of the tank. Still a stinker - she actually peed on me this morning while I was rinsing her off! (You have to realize - she's 8 inches long. Her stream was pretty substantial!)
Interestingly, turtles don't actually "drink" water. The aquatic ones live in it, duh, most of the time, but only intake it when they are eating. Their food has to be in the water because they have no saliva. So, her pee was essentially just expelled water. But it was enough to make me laugh!
Everything you wanted to know about turtles but didn't care enough to ask. This is Dr. Science. Good day!

I like the word "blase"
ReplyDeleteThank you, mysterious stranger
ReplyDeleteI love a cream cheese and sprout sandwich. Especially on a bagel. Maybe that'll be today's lunch.
