Luba was one of my favorite singers in the 80s. I can't say the same for her videos, though. . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK3L6ccMQ4U (you gotta admit it's a great song!). I thought of her this morning because this particular song was pivotal in another strange dream I had last night. It was about Lactameon, the falling god of Yr, from the book I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. The soundtrack and characters are vivid, but I can't really recall the dream itself.
Incidentally, another awesome Luba song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGaeRd8h3_M&feature=related (another bad video - ah, Canada). It's amazing how many memories a single song can bring back. Both of these songs are from the movie 9 1/2 weeks. I saw it in England with some friends I met while I was there. So, yeah, they make me think of being 20 and wandering around the "homeland". Sigh. And a few other times in my life, when The Best is Yet to Come was my mantra and my hope.

Eating yesterday was not awful, just not great. I was home, very sick, and ate mostly crackers and some fruit-sweetened strawberry jam. Dinner was 2 veggie burgers with no mayo from BK, and six of Husband's french fries. I know, but I had to have some minor surgery yesterday, too, and was not in the mood to move. My exercise involved a little typing, a little up and down stairs motions, and keeping the dog and cat from leaping on my side (surgery site).
It's funny, I feel so committed, yet my actions belie my intentions.
________________________ Incidentally, the greeting for hello and goodbye in Yr is "suffer". I LOVE that book! Read it, if you have not. Mental health books from the 60s and 70s were a HUGE part of my reading when I was in my 20s. And the graphic above is from an Islamic website, but it sure looks like I picture Lactameon!
Lactameon (lac TAY me on) is also the name of my box troll. If you name them, they will protect you. Lactameon is in a box the basement right now, explaining my year last year!

that is my all time favorite book, and i also love the name lactameon. did you know he's a artist, too?
