Skinny Biotch

Has anyone read "skinny bitch" - the diet book? It really is interesting, once you get past the language. (Serious potty-mouths and most of it is unnecessary.) It confirms a lot about how the FDA and the food industry are in cahoots; the fact that 29 years later (since I stopped eating meat), the meat industry has not changed - it's as cruel and inhumane as ever; and how things like aspartame and Atkins are making us fatter. FATTER! Essentially, the authors recommend a vegan (no animal products at all), organic lifestyle.
Duh. That really is supposed to be how we eat.

I did some research on my own, reading some of the studies they used for the book, as well as other works. Interstingly, they are right on many counts. Like the fact that studies AGAINST a vegetarian or vegan diet are done by the beef industry - with scathing results.

It makes me want to stop eating beef all over again!

So, I have settled on a lifestyle of Skinny Bitch, Dr. Gillian McKeith, and Dr. McDougall. Again, it's a process. But it's a process I am feeling more committed to than ever!

Also, the title of the book brought home a big memory for me. When I lived in Pontiac, I used to walk there. There were many times I was yelled at by LARGE women and called a skinny bitch. I miss that. Seriously. Look at me above. Size 4 jeans, junior medium (equates to misses small) top - and it was only stretched out in front!
I want that back.

  1. Kim you looked gorgeous in that photo although I agree on the healthy part and the happier part, yet you are way too prettier now! It has to be Tim's effect! and you are dashing in those cheeks now I am talking from a mid-eastern perspective! so lose as much weight as you wish but KEEP those cheeks.
