Isn't he cute? The photo is titled "Jim's Gills" reminding me of a friend, Timgill. These little guys are from Mexico and are aquatic because they never fully develop into land salamanders. Only a minute few have ever fully mutated into their natural state. Here's one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/7161611.stm
I would name mine Peter Pan. Or Pedro. Pedro the Axolotl. The brown ones are ugly. I would want a white one.
So, it's in the negatives and single digits here. Allie went out to go potty this morning, and I saw her scraping her fanny on the ground. Thinking she had some "matter" stuck to it, I stopped her as she entered the house to clean her up. Upon rolling her on her side to look, I saw that when she urinated, it was so cold out that it froze around her girlie parts! Poor baby Icy Pants!
Axolotls and frozen dog weewee aside, stay warm out there.
Today's food log is kind of grim. Well, not awful, but I am too tired to post it anyway. It involves miso soup, szechuan tofu, and a big ol' hunk of KFC chicken breast. I'm trying.
Exercise today entailed walking and freezing my fanny off outside. You realize that when you are cold, you burn calories. A former client of mine from my consulting days used to be a national body builder. Wow. So, getting hot makes you lose water weight. Being cold makes you burn fat. Thermodynamics. Go figure.
