
I admit - I work avoid. I was typing stuff for class tomorrow, when I got this fun idea in my head. (I do these things. They amuse me.) I would look for a different picture to replace one on this blog. I was looking specifically for a picture of the wooden sandals which Tibetan Buddhist monks wear - the kind with the wooden knob that goes between the first two toes? They look painful, but I thought they would go better with the Asian theme of the "ancient proverb."
So, instead of a lovely pairs of sandals, for some reason, I got this.

Personally, I think it's classic. I wonder if it means the same thing there as here? I hear it was intended for China, in reaction to the Dalai Lama saying, "Enough with the passive resistance! Get 'em, boys!" (or something more holy).
(Incidentally, I hope you know that's a joke . . . Glossy News is a joke website)


Those sandals are called paduka. Did you finally find a photo?
